Health & Emergencies

Grooming can be stressful for dogs and may expose or worsen medical conditions.
If necessary, emergency vet care will be sought at the owner’s expense unless negligence is proven.
Elderly, overweight, or young dogs are at higher risk of minor injuries.

Matting Policy

The risk of minor nicks and skin irritation increases significantly with matted dogs.
Severely matted coats will be clipped short in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, which states de-matting beyond 15 minutes is not permitted.
Please note if you reject our recommendation to clip the matted coat short, we reserve the right to refuse the groom and take payment in full.
Groomers will attempt to contact the owner but will act in the dog's best interest if unavailable.
A charge of up to £10 may apply for excessive matting.

Hygiene area shaving may cause redness or itching—inform the groomer if you prefer a longer trim.
Ear plucking is only done on request due to infection risks which Milo & Betty’s take no responsibility for.
Unfortunately minor nicks or skin irritation may occur even when taking every precaution.

Owners must disclose any history of aggression or nervousness.
Behavioural charges may apply.
We reserve the right to stop the groom or muzzle the dog if necessary. in our professional opinion.

48 hours notice is required for cancellations, or full payment is due.
No-shows must pay in full before rebooking.

Please arrive on time. Early arrivals may have to wait; late arrivals (15+ minutes) may have the appointment cancelled with full payment required.
Late collection fees apply if a dog is not picked up on time.

Fleas & Ticks

Dogs with fleas must be treated before their appointment.
If fleas are found, grooming will stop, and the owner must collect the dog immediately. A £15 sanitisation fee will apply.
Ticks will be removed free of charge, but the salon is not responsible for any infections caused by removal.

Pregnant or in-season bitches will not be groomed.
No service for dogs classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
Owners agree not to hold the salon liable for injuries unless negligence is proven.

Proof of vaccination may be required.
